B.A. in Elementary Education Program
In BCF’s Teacher Education program, we prepare students to serve as Christian educators. We believe the schools are potential mission fields in need of Christian educators. The Elementary Education degree prepares students to be a light for Christ in the local public or private school. Our professors teach from a Christian worldview to help prepare students to be effective educators who impact students academically, socially, and spiritually.
What to Expect
The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education degree is a 124-semester-hour program and includes courses that focus on elementary reading methods, content area methods, educational assessment, classroom management, special education, and methods to teach speakers of other languages. Along with coursework, the student will complete a final internship during the last semester that requires them to work in the local school under the supervision of a classroom teacher and the college supervising professor. This final internship must be completed in a Florida public school.

Potential Career Paths
As a Florida Department of Education approved program, this degree prepares students to become certified by the Florida Department of Education in Elementary Education (K-6) with Reading and ESOL endorsements in order to become a teacher at the elementary level.
Program Purpose
The major in Elementary Education is designed to prepare an individual for teaching kindergarten through 6th grade in the public or private school field.

The Education Studies degree prepares students to be a light for Christ in the public school, private school, homeschool, or on the mission field. Our professors teach from a Christian worldview to help prepare students to be effective educators who impact students academically, socially, and spiritually.

Potential Career Paths
This degree prepares students to teach History and/or Social Studies at the secondary level. Because the program is not approved by the Florida Department of Education, students may become eligible for certification through an alternative route.
Program Purpose
The major in History and Social Studies Secondary Education is designed to prepare a person to teach in a specialization (Social Studies) in grades 6-12 (middle and/or senior high school) in public or private school fields. For professional certification, one should consult BCF’s Teacher Education Division as well as the state board of education for requirements for teaching in a particular state.
