Record numbers attend BCF Heritage Festival in Graceville.

There were over 1000 people that attended The Baptist College of Florida’s (BCF) annual Holiday Heritage Festival held on Friday, November 22, where guests were greeted with warm smiles ushering in the holiday season. Visitors to the campus strolled through picturesque Heritage Village admiring the decorations and the old-fashioned surroundings. The historic buildings were filled with treasures as artisans came to display their handiwork and creative skills. Demonstrations of intricately designed trains, beautifully crafted paintings, detailed stone carvings and pottery, flawlessly sown quilts, and the expertise of a blacksmith combined with buggy rides and the sweet smell of cane syrup brewing provided the perfect ambiance.

Faculty and students from the BCF Music and Worship Division performed musical selections throughout the afternoon, in addition to the award winning sound provided by the gospel duo Mercy Revealed. BCF students in the Teacher Education Division escorted elementary school students through the historic buildings explaining where the building had been located and how it came to BCF.

Adding to the warmth of the traditional holiday gathering, small contained fires were lit throughout the village keeping guests warm, and hot beverages and bottled water was available to guests at no charge. The event was complete with delicious homemade chili, ham biscuits, and goodies baked by the faculty and staff wives raising over $2000 to go into the scholarship fund.

This year’s festival included tours of the college campus and the life size replica of the Tabernacle constructed by Patterns of Approach Ministries. There were guided tours of the tabernacle from Nov. 11 until Nov. 22, filled with the amazing historical facts conveying the true meaning of Christmas of Jesus born in a manger as the sacrificial lamb.
