It was the second official game of the season for The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) Lady Eagles Volleyball Team as they traveled down the interstate to participate in a tournament in Pensacola. With a cooler full of power drinks and bottled water, this young team was hungry to put a check mark in the win column. According to Coach Richard Denson, the team had been working hard to be competitive and continues to show improvements every time they take the court.

Once the team arrived at the sports complex in Pensacola, they went head to head in the first game against Tennessee Temple. Close sets ended with Temple on top as the Eagles moved on to the second match of the evening.

The BCF Lady Eagles were eager for a win as they took the court against the team from Trinity Christian in Jacksonville. The first game was close going into overtime with Trinity 27 and BCF 25. Hard hits and back and forth volleys gave BCF their long awaited win with the final score 25-23 in the second set. Trinity pulled ahead for the third set with a score of 25-15 with the final game going to Trinity at 25-19.

After a full night of rest, the Lady Eagles woke up with a renewed sense of excitement as they arrived at the sports arena to start the second day of tournament play. The first game started at 9:00 a.m. after the prayer and the National Anthem. Challenged early by the team from Pensacola Christian, the Lady Eagles never gave up and remained strong and focused. Two BCF players collided on the court which left BCF with only two substitutes to rotate. Pensacola won three sets to end the best 3 out of 5 match.

The final game of the tournament put BCF against Trinity College one last time. Even though the score was close for all three sets, Trinity took the win back to Jacksonville but not without a fight. The Lady Eagles have a full season ahead to rack up a few more wins.
