Day of Prayer Poster

In an unprecedented show of approval, unity and excitement, the President of The Baptist College of Florida, Trustees, Florida Baptist Convention leadership, faculty, students and staff have set aside an annual Day of Prayer for The Baptist College of Florida.

The initial recommendation and request for the special day of prayer from BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen to the Board of Trustees, and then to the Florida Baptist Convention stated that Baptists are a praying people, "We pray for our personal needs, our families, our churches, our denomination, our country and on through an unending list of concerns. Prayer makes a difference in the lives of those who are praying, and in the lives of those who are fortunate enough to be the objects of the prayers of God's people."

After unanimous approval from the Trustees, State Board of Missions of the Florida Baptist Convention, and convention leadership, the date set for the Annual Day of Prayer for The Baptist College of Florida is the last Sunday of January each year.

"The Florida Baptist Convention has set aside a special day of prayer for The Baptist College of Florida," stated Executive Director-Treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention John Sullivan. "This is something we should do every day, but on this special day let's pray for the miracle of our school to be a praise to the Father and a blessing to His world!"

According to Kinchen, on January 29, 2012, the Trustees, administration, faculty and staff will lead out in this prayer effort and call upon others to join them. "As an institution, The Baptist College of Florida needs prayer," stated Kinchen. "We who are involved in its daily life and work need prayer. Throughout the history of The Baptist College of Florida, prayer has been the essential channel of petition, praise, and God's power. Since coming here in 1990, I have seen countless times in which the explanation for movements, individual events, revivals and renewals, both personally and corporately has been the prayers of God's people at this place and around the world."

BCF Graduate and Trustee Craig Conner, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church Panama City, Fla., in support of the prayer initiative stated, "It is with heartfelt urgency that I implore you to pray for our great college, The Baptist College of Florida. Much of what I am today as a pastor is the result of the theological education and the spiritual edification I received while a student at this fine college. Great hope wells up in my heart when I consider the possibilities for this place in Graceville prompted by the prayers of thousands of Florida Baptists. Let us bathe our college this day and every day in prayer.

"No other institution in Baptist life is better positioned for a glorious future than The Baptist College of Florida," quantified Clayton Cloer, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Central Florida. "The College stands poised to explode in growth, influence, and Kingdom expansion. Please pray that the Lord's hand of blessing would be upon The Baptist College of Florida -- her students, faculty, and trustees."
