CRAIG JACOBS, AN OVERWHELMING CONQUEROR.

Along with The Refuge at First Baptist Church of Citra and friends and family all over, The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) grieves over the death of one of our own. Alumnus Craig Jacobs, husband to Cyndi Jacobs and father to Joshua and Sarah, entered the joy of His Lord on Sunday night, February 12, 2023. While this is a season of sorrow, there is also much joy to be found for the life Craig lived for the Lord. He was raised in Hawthorne, Florida, and was a member of The First Baptist Church of Waldo. Believing in his call to ministry, this church sent him to pursue his theological education at The Florida Baptist Theological College (FBTC) in 1993. He graduated from FBTC in May of 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Minor in Youth Ministry. After graduating, he served faithfully as the Pastor of The Refuge Church for almost a quarter of a century until his retirement this past December. Throughout his ministry, Craig endured various trials, which included his fight with cancer. Through all of this, he exemplified what it meant to overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us; not allowing his circumstance to overcome him, but instead persevered through it for the glory of God. His faith served as the foundation that God could work through him despite his illness. As a result, he never wavered in pursuing the upward calling of Christ, loving his family, serving his church, and doing all things for the glory of God. May we all seek to follow Craig’s example and legacy, fully trusting God to work for our good and for His glory through every circumstance.
