According to The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) Music and Worship Division Chair Bill Davis, the upcoming Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the R. G. Lee Chapel will be an event worth the time and effort to attend. “We are excited to invite the public to the BCF Music and Worship Division’s Spring Concert,” stated Davis. “There will be something enjoyable for everyone!”
The concert will feature the superb BCF Jazz Band playing tune favorites like Hayburner from jazz great Sammy Nestico, Jazz Police by Gordon Goodwin, and Night Running, an original piece by Music and Worship Division Chair Bill Davis. The Guitar Ensemble will perform arrangements including Amtrad by Andrew Forrest, Applaachian Rain, The Entertainer, and BCF Guitar Professor Jay Erp and a prospective student will perform an arrangement of Autumn Leaves.
One of the highlights of the evening will be BCF Piano Professor Angela Glover playing a set of Amazing Grace, arranged by Joel Rainey, and based on a melody by Franz Liszt. The BCF College Singers will present African Processional, arranged by David Montoya, The New 23rd, by legendary Christian composer Ralph Carmichael, We Shall Walk in Peace, a spiritual arranged by David Davenport, Empty Now, by Joseph M. Martin, and Cantate Domino, by baroque composer Guiseppi Pitoni. The singers will conclude the evening’s program with the beautiful The Lord Bless You and Keep You, by Peter Lutkin.
