BCF News

The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) has a vast network of alumni all over the nation and the world involved in different kinds of ministry. One of those ministries is called Linking International Needs with the Church’s Untapped Power (LINC-UP) Missions and it was founded in 2006 by Dr. Richie Allen, Teaching Pastor at Grace Church in Bonifay and proud BCF Alumnus. LINC-UP Missions is a gospel center organization that is reaching the Quilombola people of Brazil with the message of Christ. This has afforded many incredible opportunities to Brazilian people like Jornandes Vasconcelos. He was able to earn a certificate from The Baptist College of Florida in Pastoral Leadership in 2008 in Cururupu, MA, Brazil, administered through LINC-UP Missions.

Dr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Theology degree at The Baptist College of Florida and then completed graduate studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Before founding LINC-UP Missions, he served as a pastor for 11 years.  He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Missions at the Baptist College of Florida. He firmly believes that "Missions is not complete until those who receive missionaries begin to send missionaries." Vasconcelos is a testament to that statement.

Vasconcelos came to the US in August to study English at the University of North Florida in preparation to become a cross-cultural missionary in Peru. He toured the Graceville campus of The Baptist College of Florida on Friday, July 29th, 2022. This was his first time ever being on campus at BCF. During that tour, he got to spend time with the chair of the Theology Division, Dr. Rich Elligson, who was also a missionary in Brazil with the IMB.

It is incredible to see God work through BCF Alumni and get updates on what they accomplish, especially on the mission field. For more information on LINC-UP Missions, please visit www.lincupmissions.com where you can also find contact information.
