The Baptist College of Florida to hold Historic Graduation Ceremony in the BCF Wellness Center on May 13 @ 10:00 a.m.

On Friday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m., The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville will hold commencement exercises for 51 graduates who have fulfilled all of the requirements to earn their degree. For graduates, the commencement ceremony held in the BCF Wellness Center will be the culmination of years of hard work, study, and determination.

The graduating class of spring 2016 is already making history as BCF senior James Womble is set to become the first graduate in the Bachelor of Arts in Missions with a Concentration in Aviation degree. Another significant highlight of the spring graduation is three Master of Arts in Christian Studies degree recipients, making it an exciting celebration for the entire class.

In addition to the historic aviation milestone, there are several significant family connections within this graduating class that are noteworthy. BCF seniors Jonathan Coggins and Jared Davis, whose fathers are BCF professors, will be receiving their degrees, and William “Lewis” Goodman IV follows a long line of BCF alumni in his family to include his wife, both sisters, his father, and his grandfathers. Graduating senior Shelsea Denson Rickman’s husband, two brothers, and sister-in-law graduated from BCF, and Shelsea’s brother Matthew is scheduled to graduate in May 2017.

Members of the graduating class are already busy preparing for life after graduation with several continuing their education and others pursuing vocational positions in ministry, missions, music, education, business, and psychology. BCF senior Korey Morrow is moving to Guatemala for an indefinite time serving on the mission field, while others are assuming leadership and ministry positions in their area of study. Identified as the next greatest generation of Christian leaders, expectations are high as the graduating class carries out the registered trademark of “Changing the World Through the Unchanging Word.®”

In addition to the actual commencement ceremony, graduating seniors will be recognized during Senior Honors Day on May 4, at 10:00 a.m. in the R.G. Lee Chapel. The special worship service will include a time of senior-led praise and worship and a time of recognition for graduates earning high GPA honors.
