Each January, The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) Professor of Theology and Philosophy Mark Rathel takes a class of BCF students to one of the leading apologetic conferences in America held at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, La. According to Rathel, the students have the opportunity to learn and ask questions from some of the leading Christian thinkers in America today as they winsomely and persuasively set forth a case for the Christian faith in terms of science, problem of evil, resurrection of Jesus, new atheism, Islam, world religions, and apologetic preaching.

During this year’s conference, Rathel had the opportunity to lead breakout sessions on the issues of religious pluralism, canon of the New Testament, and textual reliability of the New Testament. BCF students that were able to participate in the Defend the Faith 16 class trip included Troy Marks, Debra McGee, Michael Harper, Matthew Goodwin, Timothy Chirico, and James Russ.
