BCF Women’s Ensemble presented the inaugural concert for the First Concert Series at First Presbyterian Church in Enterprise, Ala.

The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) Women’s Ensemble presented the inaugural concert for the First Concert Series, a ministry of First Presbyterian Church, Enterprise, Ala., on March 8, 2015.

First Presbyterian Church is developing the First Concert Series as a means to provide opportunities for the worship of God through the beauty of artistic music. Other artists in the series include Andrew Stroud, Guitarist from Wallace Community College in Dothan, and Jared Starr, Violinist from Florida State University in Tallahassee with Piano Professor Angela Glover from The Baptist College of Florida.

Directed by BCF Professor Buford Cox and accompanied by Pianist Linda Vaughn, the Women’s Ensemble presented an eclectic blend of music which included contemporary gospel and sacred songs, praise anthem with Latin text, hymn arrangements, spirituals, and 16th century Italian madrigals. The ladies also combined their voices with the Enterprise Children’s Chorus, directed by Angie Eaton, for two songs.

In addition to the performance in Enterprise for the inaugural concert series, the Women’s Ensemble presented a worship concert that evening at El Bethel Baptist Church in Chancellor, Ala. For more information about the BCF Women’s Ensemble and their upcoming tour schedule, as well as scheduling a concert, please contact Professor Cox at 850-263-9032 or becox@baptistcollege.edu.
