BCF Admissions Counselor James Oney provided a quick snapshot of the massive crowd that attended.

What do you get when you have worship teams like Building 429, Passion featuring Kristian Stanfill, Sadie Robertson, and Lecrae all in the same place with God as the center of attention? You have R.U.S.H. “Reaching Unchurched Students for Him” with over 900 decisions to follow Christ!

The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) alumnus David “Big Dave” McGuire currently serves as the youth pastor at NorthRidge Church in Thomaston, Ga., and the recreation coordinator for the massive R.U.S.H. event. Another BCF graduate, Travis Fann, has been serving at the event for the past five years, joining McGuire and coordinating the Ultimate Frisbee activities.

R.U.S.H. is a unique ministry initially established as a weekend event with local churches coming together for the common purpose of reaching the lost in their community. However, as time progressed and excitement increased, R.U.S.H. has now grown into an enormous youth event where students across the state come together for worship. In addition to reaching the lost, the overall focus is to “motivate and equip students and student pastors to ‘REACH’ other students, adults, friends, and even family members in their community for Christ!"

According to BCF Admissions Counselor James Oney, who was able to provide students with information about the ministry degrees offered through The Baptist College of Florida, there were over 5,000 people in attendance at the May 9th event. “Over 5,000 people were able to get a glimpse of, not only what the Kingdom of God is like, but what BCF has to offer as one pursues God’s call on his or her life for the Kingdom,” stated Oney. Thankful for the opportunity to experience the worship of so many young people, McGuire thanked BCF for participating and supporting R.U.S.H. noting that plans are already being made for BCF to come back next year.
