The finale of “Hope Restored” as performed by the combined BCF College Choir and Orchestra at The Baptist College of Florida.

On March 19, echoing the sounds of triumph, The Music and Worship Division at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville presented the salvation story of Easter through music and dramatization. The narrated presentation, “Hope Restored” demonstrated the incredible redemption story of Jesus Christ as told by Mary Magdalene. Beverly Lewis, a skillful and gifted actress from Tallahassee, Fla., portrayed the storyteller Mary Magdalene, while BCF student Coral Molchanoff depicted the younger Magdalene that encountered Jesus. The cast also included BCF students Joshua Larson, Joey Shivers, Austin Lay, and alumnus Todd Larson providing the passionate visual of the ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

In addition to the dramatic cast performance, the musical presentation by the combined BCF College Choir and Orchestra was absolutely breathtaking. Musical descriptors of the events leading to the cross and ultimately to the ascension of Christ included song favorites, “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Psalm 34,” “It is Finished,” and “Victor’s Crown.”

“I felt that it was absolutely beautiful,” stated BCF Ministry Major Juan Gallegos. “It impacted my life greatly by reminding me of what my Savior did for me.” Those same words resonated in unison across the aisles as BCF Music and Worship Division Chair Bill Davis led those in attendance in singing “Victor’s Crown.” The victor, Jesus Christ, offers hope to the world as depicted in this outstanding program, “Hope Restored."

By the end of the evening, only a few dry eyes could be seen in the Wellness Center as people rejoiced in the resurrection story of Jesus Christ. According to Davis, members of the Music and Worship Division spent hours practicing and rehearsing with the one prayer of reaching others with the greatest story of hope.
