During the Fall Preview Day, BCF Teacher Education Division Chair Susan Wegmann shares with prospective education majors the joys of teaching and explains the requirements for Elementary Education majors.

Faculty, students, and staff at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville are excitedly making preparations for the upcoming Spring Preview Day Friday, March 13, 2015. The semi-annual open house event welcomes prospective students to the campus and provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in continuing their education to experience and see firsthand the college that is changing the world.

Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. CST in the BCF Wellness Center which is located in the center of the campus. During a special meet and greet time, prospective students will be able to speak with faculty and staff representatives, obtain information about all of the degree options, financial aid, computer access, and meet dorm advisors and division chairs. Campus guests will have a chance to visit a class or attend the financial aid brief and become familiar with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the tuition assistance and scholarship programs available to students.

BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen will offer a word of welcome to Preview Day visitors during the student led praise and worship service in the R. G. Lee Chapel, followed by lunch and performance by the BCF Jazz Band. After a time of fellowship, Admissions Counselors will be available for campus tours of the writing center, library, computer lab and prayer chapel, and BCF Resident Directors (RD’s) will provide dorm tours of campus housing.

Preview Day at The Baptist College of Florida is a campus wide family event. Current students have the opportunity to share with prospective students and every division sets up an informational exhibit booth during the meet and greet time to present their degree programs. One of the highlights of Preview Day will include a challenge basketball game between faculty and students.

BCF Christian Counseling Major Allison Gordon recalled the first Preview Day she attended as extremely positive and fun. “I really liked Preview Day because they separated all of the majors and I got to know the teachers on a personal level. People here are just very friendly. The faculty and students are always willing to help.” Gordon went on to say that she enjoys Preview Day more as a current student than as a prospective student because now she has the opportunity to help someone else determine where they should attend college.

The $25 application fee will be waived for students who apply on Preview Day and all of the names of prospective students will be entered into a drawing to win one of several $500 scholarships.

If you are looking for a college to prepare you to change the world, Preview Day is the perfect time to see if BCF is that place! To register for Preview Day, contact the Admissions Office at 850.328.2660 ext. 513 or register online at www.baptistcollege.edu.
