Chaplain and Grief Specialist Gino Mayo addresses Christian Counseling majors at The Baptist College of Florida.

Gino Mayo, Chaplain and Grief Specialist at Emerald Coast Hospice, addressed the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville during their monthly meeting. Mayo provided BCF students with valuable information on therapeutic communication dealing with individuals facing the loss of a loved one.

According to BCF Christian Counseling Professor Kristy Ford, students were not only informed but also encouraged as Mayo engaged and interacted with students allowing them to express their thoughts and ideas. Students were able to explore different life issues with Mayo and the subsequent need for trained counselors and facilitators. “I am very impressed with these young counselors,” stated Mayo. “It encourages me to see the dedication and ability of this group. This is cause to be excited about this new generation of people with a calling to help those in need.”
