BCF Resident Directors (RD’s) always bring a smile!

The atmosphere was electric on October 23 at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, as over 140 prospective students and their families attended the Fall Preview Day to determine if BCF will be the institution where they continue their education.

Registration began in the Wellness Center at 9:00 a.m. during which students received bags filled with information regarding the many facets and areas of life at BCF. During the registration time, prospective students were able to visit exhibits and booths dedicated to providing information on specific degree programs, mission opportunities, financial aid, student life activities, intramural sports, and other resources available to students such as the library, writing center, and computer lab. In addition to registration and visiting the exhibits, there was also a photo booth where visitors could take pictures with friends and family members as they created memories and made new friendships on Preview Day.

After a time of exploring the exhibits, guests were welcomed by BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen and Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing Sandra Richards. Several scholarships were presented to prospective students that traveled a great distance to attend Preview Day, followed by classroom visit opportunities. Preview Day visitors were able to attend classes that provided additional information on music and worship, teacher education, Christian counseling, theology/missions/evangelism or financial aid. The classroom visits were designed to provide specific information correlating to a program of interest or explain more fully the financial aid processes.

Upon completion of the classroom visits, guests made their way to the R.G. Lee Chapel for a time of inspirational worship and an encouraging message from BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen. The chapel service showcased the BCF College Orchestra, BCF College Choir and several of the ensembles that students are able to join while attending BCF.

After the student led worship service, lunch was provided in the Wellness Center while listening to the soothing sound of the BCF Jazz Band led by Associate Professor of Music Ron Branning. It was a wonderful time of fellowship as guests enjoyed a meal together followed by tours of the dormitories led by BCF Resident Directors (RD’s) and a campus tour led by BCF Admissions Counselors.

Current and prospective students later filed into the Wellness Center again to watch the BCF Student Volleyball Intramural Champions take on a team made up of faculty and staff in a volleyball challenge game. The teams competed admirably, but the students won the match.

After the game, there was a drawing for two more scholarships awarded to prospective students. In total, Kinchen presented six scholarships valued at five hundred dollars each. Following the scholarship drawing, the day’s festivities came to a close with a final word of prayer as visitors left the campus.
