Pans of cookies at BCF First Lady Ruth Ann Kinchen’s home ready to be covered and delivered.

On Wednesday, February 19, The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville celebrated one of its favorite days on campus: Cookie Day.

Since the fall semester of 2009, BCF First Lady Ruth Ann Kinchen has baked and delivered special goodies, homemade cookies, and brownies to the campus for BCF students. This semester she was assisted by Barbara Hammack, Jan Cunningham, Gail Floyd, and Dawn Freeman. The ladies worked hard to provide enough cookies to feed all of the college students, as well as many of the faculty and staff members. In addition to the overflowing pans of cookies, there were special bags of sugar-free treats making sure that no one was left out of the joy of Cookie Day.

This semester, BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen made the announcement during chapel service that it was Cookie Day adding to the excitement and anticipation of the treats to come. When students are away from home, there is nothing like the realization that someone loves them enough to do something so selfless for them. Ruth Ann Kinchen does a wonderful job of providing students with a sense of home and reminding them they are loved and prayed for often.

In addition to praying for students and baking cookies, Kinchen coordinates fundraising events for scholarships, decorates the campus for the holidays, and travels many miles recruiting and representing the college. Her attention and care for the students and the campus is made evident in her deep love for Christ.
