Acclaimed Vocalist David Okerlund to perform in the R. G. Lee Chapel at The Baptist College of Florida on October 2 at 7:00 p.m.

The Music and Worship Division at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville is excited to announce the vocal performance of World renowned performing artists Leslie Heffner and David Okerlund on October 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the R.G. Lee Chapel.

Ohio native and current BCF Adjunct Instructor Leslie Heffner has performed in operas, oratorios, and vocal recitals all across the United States and Europe. In addition to performing in George Frideric Handel’s “Xerxes” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” Heffner has been teaching classical and music theater voice for over fourteen years. Championed by her students as an exceptionally gifted and amazing teacher, Heffner has a private studio in Tallahassee and works at Florida State University as visiting assistant professor of voice.

David Okerlund is a critically acclaimed singer who has performed in over a hundred operas around the world. His musical expertise, talent, and skills have provided him the opportunity to perform at The New National Theater of Tokyo, Teatro Carlo Felice in Italy, as well as many more prestigious opera houses. Before joining the faculty at Florida State University as associate professor of voice, Okerlund served as assistant professor of voice at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and Artist Lecturer of Voice at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania.

The public is invited to join the BCF Music and Worship Division, faculty, students, and staff to hear the incredible talent and symphonic sounds of Heffner and Okerlund.
