BCF Education students.

The faculty and staff in the Teacher Education Division of The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville will be hosting the inaugural BCF Education Symposium to provide education students and local teachers with an assortment of educational resources and professional development, as well as collaborate with experts in the field of education.

The symposium will be held Tuesday, November 5, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the Mills Center located on the BCF campus. Although the event is planned for BCF education students, any local teachers in the surrounding area are invited and encouraged to attend. Kevin Smith, who is the Research Alliance Manager at the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southeast at Florida State University will be the featured speaker for the event. The speaker's topic will be “With a Little Help from my Friends: Transitions in Literacy Instruction for Elementary ELA Common Core State Standards Implementation."

During the symposium, educational door prizes will be given away to include books, supplies, and gift cards. The BCF Teacher Education Program (TEP) t-shirt design winner will also be announced at the event.
