BCF Associate Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew James Newell publishes another article in the Biblical Illustrator.

James Newell, Associate Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, was recently invited to write another article for Biblical Illustrator, the quarterly Bible study magazine for leaders and learners featuring articles that assist in explaining Biblical events, people, customs and Bible texts.

This was not the first time that Newell has received the honor, having published articles more than 15 times prior in the popular magazine. Over the years, the magazine has served as a prevalent resource for Lifeway studies and curriculum lessons.

Newell's article, titled "Who Were the Anakim?" was written to give background information to readers studying Joshua 14:6-15. According to Newell, the word, Anakim, is a transliteration meaning "strong necked" or "long necked," and was used in reference to the descendants of Anak. In the article, Newell provides a clear depiction of the Anakim people and their significant role in the Bible.

The insightful and interesting article will be published in the Summer 2012 Edition of the Biblical Illustrator.
