BCF PROFESSOR SERVES AS MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES

BCF Professor Kimberle Moon served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the Fourth Annual Women in Criminal Justice History Brunch.

The Baptist College of Florida's (BCF) Professor of Voice Kimberle Moon was recently featured as Mistress of Ceremonies for the Fourth Annual Women in Criminal Justice History brunch, hosted by the Florida Public Safety Institute at Tallahassee Community College (TCC).

TCC is home to the Florida Public Safety Institute which observes "Women in History Month" by hosting events such as the brunch where Moon presided. "There are so very many women who have been 'the first woman to...' in law enforcement, and this is one way of celebrating their accomplishments," stated Moon.

Guest speakers for the event included Second Judicial Circuit Judges for Leon County Kathy L. Garner and Nina Ashenafi-Richardson, Florida House Representative Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda and retired Greensboro Police Chief Marianne Scholer. This year's theme was "Lady Justice: A Positive Force for Law and Order."

Moon was appointed to the District Board of Trustees for TCC by Governor Jeb Bush for 2006-2010 and was reappointed as a Trustee by Governor Charlie Crist to serve through 2014. She served as Chairperson of the Board for 2007-2008.

She holds a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance from Ohio University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in vocal performance and speech pathology from Ohio State University. Her skills and talents have allowed her to travel and study in numerous countries including Austria, Italy, Germany and England.
