BCF JAZZ BAND RETURNS FROM TOUR

The eclectic Jazz Band from The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, under the direction of BCF Professor Ron Branning, recently returned from their Spring Tour that took them through a good portion of the state playing a series of concerts for various churches and schools from Noma to Daytona.

The whirlwind tour included performances at the First Baptist Church of Noma, First Baptist Church of Bonifay, First Baptist Church of Wausau, Hogan Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and First Baptist Church of Orange Park. The talented group also played concerts for the following high schools: Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Clay High School in Green Cove Springs, Warner Christian Academy in Daytona, and Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville.

"Because of the unique nature of the music of this group, we can easily cross over between church settings and school settings," stated Branning. "We play familiar hymns arranged in various jazz styles in our church concerts, and we play a variety of some of the great standards of the jazz repertoire when we are in the schools. But wherever we play, we try to be a positive influence for the Kingdom of God."
