AWARDS, HONORS, AND A PRESIDENTIAL SERMON TO CLOSE CHAPEL SERVICES FOR SPRING
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 26, 2010
Dr. Thomas A. Kinchen, President of The Baptist College of Florida, will be preaching in chapel May 4 and May 5.
With graduation impending, the students at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville look forward with excitement to the special chapel services scheduled for May 3 through May 5. The final week of chapel for the spring semester features graduating seniors as they transition to a new chapter in their lives and areas of ministry.
Beginning Monday, the winner of the Presidential Excellence in Preaching Award will be speaking in the R. G. Lee Chapel at 10 a.m. The award is given to a BCF student, chosen by a faculty committee, who is either enrolled in or has taken a BCF preaching course. Competitors presented their sermons before a student gallery and panel of faculty judges over a three week period, and are now given the opportunity to preach in chapel before the entire faculty and their peers. BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen and his wife Ruth Ann established the preaching award several years ago to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional preaching skills.
Tuesday and Wednesday, the BCF community will hear another inspiring and challenging word from God delivered by President Kinchen. Kinchen will be recognizing the honor graduates in chapel on Wednesday followed by the traditional Honor's Day luncheon.
