MICHELANGELO NARI PERFORMS AT BCF
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 10, 2008
Guests began filing into the R.G. Lee Chapel at The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) in Graceville, FL, as early as 6 pm on September 30 eager to hear the musical talents of Michelangelo Nari, the Italian artist who spent the summer studying under Kimberle Moon, BCF voice professor, and Rob Seible.
Michelangelo opened his performance by stating, "Tonight I want to feel, not to think." His desire for the evening was to express his emotions and feelings on love through song. According to BCF music student Walker Sherman, Michelangelo remained true to his wishes throughout the performance of "Speranza" leaving the audience with an overwhelming sense of passion.
Michelangelo shared personal stories and experiences revealing the true meaning of his music to the audience. One particular story was of his mother's influence on his life and music. His musical repertoire "Speranza' means hope," stated Nari. The word was introduced by Michelangelo's mother at a young age, and he has carried it his entire life as a reminder to always hold fast to hope.
Michelangelo lives in Milano where he works with several other artists and has made noticeable appearances as a vocalist with some a-cappella groups. He has recorded several singles and has already reached number 2 in the Italian charts with the gold record "Zidane, il a tape" (2006), under the alias "La Planche."
"This was my first time hearing an Italian singer," commented Sherman. "I enjoyed his eclectic style of music and his fashion savvy. I'd enjoy having more concerts at BCF including international musicians."
