Jim Henry, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church of Orlando, Florida, will be bringing the Senior Honors Day message at The Baptist College of Florida.

As The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) seniors were picking up their cap and gowns for graduation scheduled for December 11, final preparations were being made for Senior Honors Day on December 3. The traditional Honors Day chapel service will be held in the R.G. Lee Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. with Jim Henry, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church of Orlando, Florida, as the guest speaker.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Henry holds a Bachelors degree from Georgetown College in Kentucky and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisiana. During the early years of his ministry, Henry served churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee, followed by over twenty-eight years as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Orlando.

Henry has held countless leadership positions within the denomination including President of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) from 1994-1996. He was awarded the honor of "Minister of the Year" and the John Young Award in 1995 and "Floridian of the Year" in 1997. Henry has preached at the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, SBC Convention and Pastor Conferences, and appeared numerous times on WSM-TV "Noon Show" in Nashville. Multiple articles and manuals have been attributed to Henry as well as authoring many books, including Keeping Life in Perspective, In Remembrance of Me, and The Two Shall Become One.

Having Henry speak for Senior Honors Day is part of recognizing and congratulating BCF seniors for their academic achievements and sacrifices. Following the chapel service, seniors and their families will be provided lunch by Valley Services in the BCF Assembly Center.

Everyone is invited to attend the special chapel service recognizing seniors and hearing from Pastor Jim Henry. For more information on chapel speakers at The Baptist College of Florida, contact 800.328.2660 ext. 446.
